The San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association (SFTLA) presented its Lifetime Achievement Award to Cynthia McGuinn at its 16 th annual Trial Lawyer of the Year Gala on April 16 th, 2015. The Lifetime Achievement Award honors the 34 years Cynthia has dedicated to personal injury victims, her commitment to educating and mentoring attorneys and her exceptional trial skills.
Cynthia has received recognition and awards throughout her career honoring her accomplishments as a legal advocate and community leader within the profession. Amongst her accomplishments, Cynthia served as the first women President of the San Francisco Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates, currently sits as the president of the ABOTA Foundation, was the 2003 recipient of the SFTLA Trial Lawyer of the Year Award, 2005 recipient of the American Board of Trial Advocates “Masters in Trial” Award, and has been recognized annually since 2005 as one of the “Top Women Litigators” in California. Further, Cynthia’s distinguished career has been recognized by many invitation only legal organizations including her membership in the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, which is limited to 600 members worldwide.
While the Lifetime Achievement Award honors Cynthia’s distinguished career and her unwavering commitment to personal injury victims, Cynthia has no intention of slowing down, “I’m not done yet-there’s still so much to learn every day.” Her continued excellence as an advocate was demonstrated earlier this year when she obtained a 13.5 million dollar jury verdict for a trucking incident victim in Sonoma County. Thus, while honored within the San Francisco legal community as having accomplished a lifetime worth of achievement, Cynthia is an advocate whose career only continues to gain momentum.
