Forklifts
Overview
Forklifts are tremendous tools in warehouse, industrial, and construction environments. Their ability to lift heavy loads has transformed a variety of industries.
The same elements that make forklifts useful also make them incredibly dangerous. In order to lift heavy loads, they are counter-balanced, making them very heavy. That weight can easily crush a foot or leg, traumatically amputating it. Forklifts are used in close proximity to pedestrians but their turning radius makes them behave much differently than cars. An inattentive operator can do a tremendous amount of damage with a flick of a wrist. And the ability to raise heavy objects high in the air creates the potential for heavy goods to fall on people.
Forklift injuries can be caused by poorly trained operators, defective design, or both. If you or a loved one has been injured by a forklift, call us to discuss how we can help.
